Incident Report
Description: Transit outage on Primary and Secondary up-streams at approximately 22:42:33 (UTC+00:00) until 22:44:32 (UTC+00:00) 2/03/2023
Root Cause: One of the line cards in our core routing platform started to act up which triggered an automatic restart of the MX line cards to bring them all back on-line and in sync.
Resolution: A plan has been enacted to isolate and swap the offending line card in a manner that will result in no further downtime or degradation of service to end customers. Until the card is isolated and removed from the chassis, there is the possibility of a repeat event. We are closely monitoring vitals for this potentiality while preparing the parts and labor to ensure a smooth replacement.
I want to apologize to all of our affected customers, and I also want to reassure you that we are aware and actively working to repair and mitigate. Additionally, I want to thank my entire team for responding in less than 60 seconds over a ~120 second outage.
